Packhouse Supervisor

About the role

The Packhouse Supervisor will lead the daily operations of our berry packing facility in Odemira. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures that packing lines run smoothly, production targets are met, and safety and quality standards are upheld.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate packing line staff and shift schedules.
• Manage workflow, monitor output, waste and stock levels.
• Ensure product quality, hygiene and food‑safety compliance.
• Maintain accurate production, waste and inventory records.
• Train, support and motivate team members on the shop floor.
• Resolve operational issues and collaborate with farm, logistics and quality teams.
• Report performance metrics to management and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising teams in a packhouse or food‑production environment.
• Strong knowledge of food‑safety, hygiene and quality‑control processes.
• Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workloads in a fast‑paced setting.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Previous experience in berry or fresh‑produce operations in Portugal is a plus.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English is an asset.
• Flexible availability for weekends or extended shifts during peak seasons and reliable transport to the site.

• Familiarity with ERP systems or warehouse management software.
