Operations Process Safety Manager

About the role

The Regional Process Safety Manager leads the Major Accident Hazard (MAH) programmes across the assigned region for SBM Offshore. You will drive the implementation of Operations Risk initiatives, ensuring safety and compliance in offshore asset design, construction, installation and operation.

Key responsibilities

• Implement GEMS processes in the region, collect frontline feedback and submit improvements to the global team.
• Develop and execute a regional 3‑year operations risk plan aligned with the global strategy.
• Allocate resources and provide frontline support to achieve plan objectives.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align MAH management activities.
• Engage regional clients, regulators and external parties to communicate SBM Offshore’s MAH risk management processes.
• Escalate regional concerns to the global organisation as needed.
• Lead and develop the regional team, enhancing competence for day‑to‑day safety activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, process engineering or a related field.
• More than 15 years of experience in process safety, technical safety or a related technical risk discipline.
• At least 5 years of offshore operations experience (Region 1 or 2) or project execution experience for offshore assets (Region 3).
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing projects or leading unit teams.
