MRO Buyer Planner – Supply Chain

About the role
As an MRO Planner Buyer you will be a key member of Baxter’s Supply Chain organization, partnering with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance and suppliers to ensure timely procurement and planning of Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) materials and services. Your work will help maintain uninterrupted operations, optimise inventory performance and support Baxter’s commitment to operational excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Manage purchasing and planning activities to guarantee availability of MRO materials and services.
- Execute procurement and inventory planning using MRP/ERP systems based on demand requirements.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels while minimising excess, obsolete and slow‑moving stock.
- Monitor supplier performance, lead times, quality and pricing to ensure continuity of supply.
- Develop and sustain strong supplier relationships that meet quality, service and cost objectives.
- Resolve supplier‑related issues, including quality concerns, returns and corrective actions.
- Partner with internal teams (Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance) to support business objectives.
- Participate in cost‑saving, process‑improvement and supply‑chain optimisation initiatives.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management or a related field.
- 1‑3 years of experience in purchasing, planning, procurement or materials management within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with MRP/ERP systems and inventory planning processes.
- Customer‑focused mindset with a commitment to service and operational excellence.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
Required skills
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for procurement and inventory planning.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of cGMP requirements and quality systems (preferred).
- Supply‑chain certifications such as CPIM or CPM (preferred).
