Mission Manager – Cancer Prevention & Community Programs

About the role

The Mission Manager will lead the execution and enhancement of cancer prevention, detection, and quality‑of‑life programs across priority communities. Working closely with development and event teams, you will mobilize volunteers and local partners to achieve mission targets.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and improve cancer prevention and detection initiatives, monitoring return on investment in targeted communities.
• Coordinate staff‑ and volunteer‑driven patient services in non‑metro areas, including Reach to Recovery, I Can Cope, and lodging projects.
• Manage local collaborations with health systems, oversee data registration, and administer event contracts in line with insurance guidelines.
• Integrate ACS PR staff to strengthen community presence and mission impact.
• Engage, support, and develop volunteers to manage committees, programs, and services.
• Partner with the Development Manager and Event Lead to boost patient and survivor participation and event success.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a health‑care related field.
• 3+ years of experience in oncology, community health education, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong collaborative approach with knowledge of healthcare systems, medical terminology, oncology patients, and HIPAA regulations.
