About the role
We expect the Database Administrator to manage, monitor, and optimise Oracle and PostgreSQL database systems, ensuring high performance, availability, and security. The role involves designing database structures, implementing backup and recovery strategies, and collaborating with developers and IT staff.
Key responsibilities
- Manage, monitor and optimise Oracle 19c and PostgreSQL 13+ environments.
- Design and implement database structures based on business requirements.
- Identify and resolve performance issues, tune queries and indexes.
- Develop and maintain backup, recovery and disaster‑recovery solutions using RMAN and Data Guard.
- Implement security measures to protect sensitive data.
- Provide technical support, investigate issues and collaborate with developers.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, processes and procedures.
- Plan and execute database upgrades, patches and apply new features.
Required profile
- Minimum 4 years of IT experience, including at least 2 years as a database administrator.
- Hands‑on experience with Oracle Database 19c, PostgreSQL 13+, high‑availability (RAC or Failover) and disaster‑recovery (Data Guard) environments.
- Proficiency with RMAN, tablespaces, indexes, partitions and performance tuning.
