Mid Application Support Engineer – Hybrid (Porto or Lisbon)

About the role

We are looking for a Mid Application Support Engineer to join our team on a hybrid basis in Porto (or Lisbon). You will be responsible for ensuring the stability and performance of mission‑critical applications in a 24/7 production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 3 operational support, incident resolution, and on‑call rotation.
• Maintain application and infrastructure stability by defining monitoring metrics and improving resilience.
• Coordinate technical operations, change management, deployments, and disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Drive technical projects together with development and infrastructure teams, from planning to execution.
• Manage job scheduling, performance monitoring, capacity planning, and automation.
• Maintain backup strategies, test disaster‑recovery plans, and document architecture and processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in IT infrastructure or application support.
• Proactive mindset focused on automation and continuous improvement.
• Experience working in Agile environments and 24/7 production settings.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Linux (Windows Server a plus)
• Shell, Python, PowerShell scripting
• Web servers: JBoss, WebSphere, Tomcat, Apache, IIS
• Security concepts: SSL certificates, reverse proxy, load balancing
• Job schedulers: Control‑M, VTOM or similar
• Monitoring tools: Zabbix, Grafana, ELK
• CI/CD and deployment tools: Git, Jenkins, XL Deploy, XL Release, Bitbucket, Artifactory, OpenShift, Docker
• Databases and SQL
• Networking fundamentals
• Backup strategies and disaster‑recovery planning
