MES Engineer – Hardware & Software Test Systems

About the role

We are looking for an MES Engineer to configure, maintain and improve hardware and software test systems that support production operations and shop‑floor digitalisation at our Braga R&D centre.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, maintain and enhance Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) for production and digitalisation.
• Manage product data, production workflows, routing and traceability within the MES environment.
• Support implementation of new functionalities and system integrations across manufacturing applications.
• Configure and support Andon solutions to improve real‑time production monitoring and visibility.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reporting tools and production performance indicators.
• Support packaging control and traceability solutions, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve MES, Andon and packaging system issues together with cross‑functional teams.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives to optimise manufacturing processes and digital solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Automation or a related field.
• Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) in a production environment.
• Knowledge of production processes, industrial automation and manufacturing systems integration.
• Familiarity with C/C++ and Python programming.
• Understanding of agile methodologies such as SCRUM.
• Experience with PLCs and industrial control systems.
