Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Mechanical Design Engineer to join our fast‑growing team in Setúbal. You will be responsible for turning acoustic booth concepts into fully engineered products that meet structural, acoustic, ergonomic and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review mechanical designs for acoustic booths, focusing on structure, sheet‑metal, ventilation and premium finishes.
• Create technical specifications, structural calculations and detailed 3D models/2D drawings.
• Generate CAM strategies, Bills of Materials, cutting lists and CNC setup sheets for production.
• Support product requirement definition and monitor suppliers and internal teams during machining and assembly.
• Evaluate technical proposals, select appropriate materials and components.
• Drive Design‑for‑Manufacturing improvements to optimise CNC production and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with product design, sourcing, production and quality teams from concept to factory floor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 2–6 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in acoustic products, phone booths, furniture or architectural components.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of sheet‑metal fabrication and industrial manufacturing processes.
• Dynamic, curious and able to prototype and iterate quickly in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Fusion 360 (mandatory) and experience with Inventor, SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Hands‑on experience with CAM software and CNC machining (milling, nesting, routing, wood/metal processing).
• Ability to produce structural calculations, 3D models, 2D drawings and BOMs.
• Knowledge of materials such as wood, glass, steel and aluminum.
