Material Planner & Buyer (M/F)

About the role

As a Material Planner & Buyer at Preh Portugal in Trofa, you will ensure the smooth flow of materials and components that power innovative automotive technologies. Working in a global environment, you will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to guarantee timely deliveries, optimal stock levels, and cost‑efficient purchasing.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze requisitions and convert them into purchase orders in SAP.
• Manage scheduling agreements (LPA) and standard purchase orders (NB) and send kanban call orders to suppliers.
• Receive and process purchase order confirmations, monitor deliveries, carrier schedules and shortage reports.
• Negotiate order changes with suppliers to support production needs and address non‑compliance on dates, quantities or quality.
• Maintain and update purchasing process documentation and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Academic background in Engineering, Management, Logistics or equivalent (preferred, not mandatory).
• 2–4 years of experience in procurement, material planning or supply‑chain, preferably in manufacturing.
• Solid knowledge of purchasing processes and supply‑chain principles.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP (MM/PP) or similar ERP systems.
• Strong negotiation and supplier‑relationship management skills.
• Analytical mindset with problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
