Management Associate

About the role

Sonae Sierra is seeking a Management Associate to lead the strategic and operational management of a shopping centre. You will be responsible for driving performance, overseeing teams, and ensuring alignment with corporate and ownership goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead overall strategic and operational management of the shopping centre.
• Manage and develop the on‑site team, including Technical Director, Marketing Coordinator, Operations Coordinator and other staff.
• Own the centre’s P&L, preparing budgets, optimizing revenue, controlling costs and reporting financial results.
• Build and maintain strong tenant relationships, ensuring high occupancy and satisfaction.
• Oversee technical operations, maintenance standards and CAPEX projects in coordination with the Technical Director.
• Drive footfall, sales performance and marketing strategy together with the Marketing Coordinator.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and legal requirements.
• Lead ESG and sustainability initiatives at the asset level.
• Represent the asset before local authorities, business associations, media and the community.
• Monitor market trends and competitive landscape, adjusting strategy as needed.
• Prepare regular performance reports and presentations for senior leadership and owners.
• Manage crisis response and business continuity protocols.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in shopping centre, retail asset or commercial real estate management, with significant team‑leadership experience.
• Degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Engineering or a related field.
• Proven track record of P&L responsibility for a commercial real‑estate asset.
• Strong commercial acumen, including leasing, tenant relations and retail performance management.
• Solid understanding of technical operations, maintenance and CAPEX project management.
• Willingness to travel as required.
