Maintenance & Facilities Technician

About the role

The Maintenance & Facilities Technician ensures the reliability, safety, and efficiency of production equipment and plant infrastructure at the Queluz manufacturing site. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to keep operations running smoothly through preventive maintenance, rapid troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery, utilities, and facility systems such as electrical, water, gas, steam, lighting, piping, air compressors, forklifts, and HVAC.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment failures to minimise downtime.
• Execute maintenance plans, follow SOPs, and keep accurate work orders, inspection reports, and spare‑parts records.
• Support facility improvement projects, plant layout changes, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Assist with installation, commissioning, and relocation of production equipment.
• Coordinate with external contractors to ensure safe and compliant work.
• Conduct inspections of meters, valves, and utilities to verify compliance with safety standards.
• Participate in root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Technical degree or vocational qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Industrial Maintenance or a related field.
• 3–5 years of industrial maintenance and facilities experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and facility equipment.
• Ability to read technical drawings, electrical diagrams and equipment manuals.
• Organised, able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic English communication skills are an advantage.
