Mainframe z/OS Specialist

About the role

We are looking for experienced professionals to join a new team specializing in Mainframe z/OS for an exciting international project. The team will develop and maintain solutions in complex environments, ensuring system performance, stability and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain JCL scripts and Icetool utilities to support batch processing and job scheduling.
• Automate and optimise business processes using IFPF and REXX, creating reusable scripts and macros.
• Monitor, control and balance workloads with TWS and SDSF, generating performance reports and alerts.
• Write, enhance and troubleshoot COBOL applications, applying modern coding standards.
• Develop, tune and maintain DB2 database objects, write complex SQL queries and perform performance optimisation.
• Operate within Software AG environments, using Natural, Adabas, Natural‑DB2 and webMethods EntireX for integration and data management.
• Build and support applications with NaturalOne, delivering user‑friendly interfaces.
• Enforce code quality, conduct peer reviews and adhere to best development practices.
• Collaborate with international teams to align requirements, deliverables and timelines.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Mainframe z/OS development and maintenance, preferably in consulting projects.
• Fluency in English (mandatory) for communication with global stakeholders.
• Availability for remote work, with occasional travel to Europe at the beginning of the project.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work independently in a distributed team.
