Logistics Manager

About the role

Winthrop Technologies is seeking a Logistics Manager to join its Sines, Portugal site. Reporting to the Project Director, you will be responsible for coordinating all site logistics and material movements to ensure safe, efficient, and timely delivery of works for data‑centre construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the site compound and designated storage areas to maximise efficiency and safety.
• Book and coordinate material deliveries to and from the site.
• Work closely with subcontractors to communicate delivery schedules, storage locations, and access routes.
• Maintain organisational control of site deliveries, ensuring a structured and orderly flow.
• Attend pre‑start meetings with subcontractors to convey logistics procedures and booking requirements via the Datascope system.
• Monitor traffic movement across the site, promoting safe and efficient vehicle flow.
• Implement a “just‑in‑time” delivery approach to reduce congestion.
• Ensure loading and unloading occur within the designated compound.
• Lead and supervise logistics operatives, upholding safety standards and project requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of labour allocation, delivery tracking, and progress reports.

Required profile

• 3+ years’ experience in a similar logistics or materials management role on large‑scale construction projects (or a strong trades background with 3+ years’ experience).
• 2+ years’ experience managing logistics on construction sites.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams of operatives and subcontractors.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.

Required skills

• Experience with the Datascope logistics and delivery management system (or similar).
