Legal Counselor M&A, Finance, Capital Markets and ESG

About the role

We are looking for a Legal Counselor to support Galp’s Corporate Center in the areas of mergers & acquisitions, finance, capital markets and ESG. The role combines legal drafting, regulatory interpretation and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure transactions and initiatives comply with corporate and market standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support M&A and joint‑venture processes, including due‑diligence coordination, document review and regulatory assessments.
• Assist in financing transactions, treasury‑related documentation and compliance with financial regulations.
• Contribute to the implementation of regulatory legal requirements and monitor regulatory developments.
• Conduct legal research on corporate, financial, regulatory and sustainability frameworks.
• Review and prepare basic contractual and transactional documentation.
• Liaise with internal teams and external law firms to ensure consistent legal advice.

Required profile

• Solid foundation in private law, covering civil, corporate, finance and capital markets law.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• High ethical standards, confidentiality and learning agility.
• Fluent English.
