Legal Counsel – Corporate & Product Compliance

About the role

Scrambly is seeking a Legal Counsel to lead corporate and product compliance across its fast‑growing adtech platform. The role combines strategic legal oversight with hands‑on execution, ensuring that the company’s operations, products and new features meet global regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial and partner agreements, protecting business interests.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations in key markets such as the EU, Japan, South Korea, the UK and the US.
• Provide day‑to‑day legal guidance to management and cross‑functional teams.
• Act as the primary legal partner for product, design and marketing, maintaining Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and other user‑facing documents.
• Advise on data‑privacy and consumer‑law compliance, including GDPR, CCPA and equivalent frameworks.
• Collaborate with engineering to align new features with data‑protection and digital consumer laws.
• Support new product initiatives such as subscription models, handling refund, cancellation and payment policies.
• Serve as Data Protection Officer, overseeing GDPR, CCPA and related obligations, handling data‑subject requests and incidents.

Required profile

• Law degree with solid experience in corporate law, commercial contracts and product compliance.
• Proven ability to interpret and apply international data‑privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
• Experience acting as a Data Protection Officer or handling data‑protection governance.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to provide risk‑based recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills to work with product, engineering and leadership teams.
