Junior/Mid DevOps Engineer – Lisbon or Aveiro

About the role

Fox IT is looking for motivated Junior and Mid‑level DevOps engineers to join an innovative, international project. You will work on cloud‑native solutions, microservices and APIs while collaborating with a consultancy‑focused team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java‑based microservices and RESTful APIs using Spring Boot.
• Design, implement and optimise cloud‑native architectures on AWS.
• Integrate applications with SQL/NoSQL databases (primarily PostgreSQL) and message‑queuing systems.
• Automate CI/CD pipelines, ensure observability and troubleshoot production issues.
• Follow best practices for software architecture, code quality and testing.
• Communicate effectively within Scrum teams and with external stakeholders.
• Continuously learn new technologies required by the project.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proven experience with Java and Spring Boot (Spring Batch a plus).
• Hands‑on experience with microservices, REST APIs and AWS services.
• Experience integrating with PostgreSQL and other SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Solid understanding of architecture design patterns and DevOps/CI‑CD workflows (Git, Azure DevOps).
• Strong testing, troubleshooting, observability and caching knowledge.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese, with good consultancy and problem‑solving skills.
