Junior Software Engineer (React and C++/Rust)

About the role

Critical FlyTech is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join its aerospace software team. You will work on interactive simulation interfaces and core backend components for safety-critical aviation, defence and space projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and test software systems used in aerospace applications.
• Develop interactive simulation user interfaces with React, enabling visualisation, control and analysis of system behaviour.
• Integrate frontend interfaces with backend logic written in C++ or Rust.
• Support simulation environments and tooling, including interaction with hardware or simulation platforms.
• Assist with software integration across system components and apply aerospace standards such as DO-178C where relevant.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers across software, systems and Airbus teams.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
• Some experience (academic projects, internships or personal work) with React and with C++ and/or Rust.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle concepts (e.g., V-cycle).
• Basic knowledge of debugging tools, testing techniques or simulators.
• Interest in real-time, simulation-driven or safety-critical systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills, willingness to learn and ability to work in a collaborative, international team.
