Junior & Mid-Level Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for motivated Junior to Mid‑Level Embedded Software Engineers to join our Lisbon competence centre. You will work on high‑impact projects in automotive, electrified mobility and smart factories, writing clean C code close to the hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Develop C code for new algorithms and features and integrate them into existing code bases.
• Write and execute local tests, using Python scripts for smoke testing before hand‑over.
• Debug and troubleshoot embedded software on bare‑metal or RTOS platforms.
• Communicate progress and resource availability regularly to the Software Lead.
• Contribute ideas for continuous improvement within the team.

Required profile

• Passion for embedded systems and a curiosity for how hardware works.
• At least 1 year of experience with embedded development (university projects count).
• Enjoy working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
• Good attitude, proactive mindset and ability to get work done.

Required skills

• Proficient in C programming for bare‑metal or RTOS environments.
• Basic Python scripting for test automation.
• Experience with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, CAN or LIN.
• Familiarity with ARM Cortex‑M microcontrollers.
• Ability to read microcontroller datasheets and reference manuals.
