Junior Civil Engineer – Roads & Railways

About the role

Quadrante’s Transport Infrastructures Business Unit is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer to join its Roads and Railways division at the Alfragide office. The role offers the chance to work on both national and international projects, gaining experience in the Portuguese engineering market while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and design roads and railway projects, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
• Perform geometric design, earthworks, and drainage calculations using specialised software.
• Prepare technical reports, project summaries, bills of quantities and design specifications.
• Ensure projects meet national and international regulations and sector‑specific requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise solutions.
• Mentor and support junior team members.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 1 year of professional experience in roads and railway projects.
• Strong work capacity, autonomy, pro‑activity and results‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication skills, team spirit and attention to detail.
• Fluency in English (additional languages a plus).

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Experience with specialised roads and railway calculation software.
• Familiarity with BIM solutions for transport infrastructure (valued).
