Junior Bookkeeper – Real Estate Accounting

About the role

We are a local real estate company seeking a junior bookkeeper to support day‑to‑day property accounting across office condos, a retail parking structure, and industrial warehouses. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience with the full property accounting cycle and the chance to work closely with management, operations, and leasing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Create and post monthly rent and other charges, prepare and distribute invoices, and process tenant payments.
• Coordinate vendor invoice review, issue checks, and make online payments for utilities and property taxes.
• Prepare invoices for company services, leasing commissions, and other fees.
• Enter all transactions into QuickBooks and maintain organized records for each property.
• Reconcile bank accounts, support monthly close, and assist with reporting packages.
• Provide general office support, greet clients, answer phones, and handle administrative tasks.

Required profile

• Associate’s or undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent bookkeeping experience).
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and willingness to learn property‑specific practices.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple billing cycles.
• Fully bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred.

Required skills

• QuickBooks (required).
• Yardi or similar property‑management software (preferred).
• Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets, basic formulas; pivot tables a plus).
• Online banking and bill‑pay portals.
