Junior Accountant – Fund Accounting (Porto)

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our new Porto office, supporting the full fund accounting cycle for private‑equity and other investment structures. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate financial records and reliable NAV calculations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements with disclosures and respond to ad‑hoc client requests.
• Record transactions for private‑equity and other investment structures in a timely and accurate manner.
• Calculate net asset value (NAV) of funds on a quarterly, semi‑annual and annual basis in line with applicable accounting standards.
• Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements for audit purposes.
• Communicate with investment managers, auditors, banks and regulatory bodies.
• Understand complex fund structures and the related accounting treatment.
• Perform self‑review of core processes and support onboarding of new entities on the accounting platform.
• Calculate tax/VAT reporting and prepare required client, BCL and CSSF reports.
• Ensure timely responses to client inquiries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Business or Mathematics.
• Solid understanding of IFRS and general accounting principles.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proactive attitude and ability to work under pressure to meet multiple daily deadlines.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
