Java Developer

About the role

Dellent, a consulting firm specialized in information systems and telecommunications, is supporting a business investment banking and financial services project based in Portugal. The project aims to deliver innovative Java‑based solutions and maintain operational support for the client’s core activities. We are looking for a Java Developer to join the team in Porto on a hybrid basis.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java applications using Java 8 or newer.
• Work with the Hadoop ecosystem, including Spark and Hive, to process large data sets.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver features that meet business requirements.
• Maintain code quality through unit testing (JUnit), build automation (Maven) and version control (Git).
• Support Linux‑based environments and ensure reliable deployment pipelines.

Required profile

• Degree in Technology, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 3‑6 years of professional experience with Java.
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment.
• Strong communication skills in Portuguese (preferred) and English (minimum B2).
• Analytical, organized and capable of solving problems independently while contributing to a team.
