IT Support Engineer – Lisbon

About the role

Thought Machine is expanding its new Lisbon office and is looking for an enthusiastic IT Support Engineer to be the first internal technology hire in the city. You will provide hands‑on support to employees, ensuring their Mac laptops, Linux desktops and related infrastructure run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver in‑person IT support to Lisbon staff and remote assistance to international offices.
• Provision, configure and de‑provision hardware for new and existing employees.
• Maintain and manage the IT hardware inventory.
• Assist with OS and configuration management updates, system integration and network upgrades.
• Develop scripts and tools to automate routine tasks.
• Support meeting‑room equipment and technology for events and visitor access.

Required profile

• Strong enthusiasm for providing excellent internal tech support.
• Proactive attitude toward continuous improvement and problem solving.
• Ability to work on‑site four days a week and collaborate with a global support team.

Required skills

• Experience with Mac operating systems and hardware.
• Experience with Linux desktops and related administration.
• Scripting ability for automation (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Knowledge of network configuration and upgrades.
• Familiarity with on‑premises and cloud infrastructure.
