In‑House Litigation & Discovery Counsel

About the role

The Litigation & Discovery In‑House Counsel will lead all aspects of litigation, arbitration and legal disputes for Liberty in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. The role includes developing strategy, managing discovery obligations and representing the company in judicial and administrative forums while upholding the highest ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage litigation, arbitration and other legal disputes, including strategy development and representation in Puerto Rico and the USVI.
• Coordinate responses to discovery requests, subpoenas, government inquiries and court orders.
• Provide advice on labor and employment matters and conduct legal risk assessments for key initiatives.
• Manage informal and formal administrative claims, attorney demands and commercial, employment or consumer litigation.
• Supervise outside counsel and insurance providers to achieve strategic and economic resolutions.
• Perform notary public duties such as taking affidavits, depositions and certifying documents.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor degree; 5‑6 years of corporate, regulatory or in‑house legal experience.
• Fully bilingual in Spanish and English with strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
• Excellent organization, leadership and ability to prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• High ethical standards, confidentiality and proactive problem‑solving capability.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
