Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the end‑to‑end management of IT infrastructure, covering both cloud‑based and on‑premises environments. This role ensures stability, security, and scalability of critical systems and services, contributing directly to business continuity and service reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and high‑performing IT infrastructure solutions across cloud and on‑premises environments.
• Collaborate with software development and DevOps teams to optimize infrastructure for efficient, reliable, and secure application deployment.
• Monitor infrastructure health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
• Provide ongoing support, incident resolution, system upgrades, and enhancements to servers, networks, databases, and storage systems.
• Implement and maintain robust security practices, ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies to drive innovation and efficiency.
• Report system performance, incident metrics, and maintain accurate documentation of configurations and procedures.

Required profile

• Solid hands‑on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and on‑premises Linux and Windows environments.
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, routing, and switching.
• Proficiency in virtualization and containerization technologies such as VMware, Hyper‑V, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, Bash, Terraform, and Ansible.
• Understanding of backup and disaster recovery strategies with exposure to tools like Datto.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
• Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, industry best practices, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
