Infrastructure Engineer – Investment Sector

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer to join Devoteam’s technology team in Porto. The role focuses on designing, maintaining and optimizing mission‑critical Linux‑based infrastructure that supports business applications and services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide infrastructure expertise and technical support to software development teams.
• Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux‑based production environments.
• Automate repetitive infrastructure and operational tasks to ensure consistency, scalability, and efficiency across distributed environments.
• Monitor, analyze, and optimise operating system performance, particularly for low‑latency applications.
• Support virtualization and container‑based platforms.
• Participate in server deployments, data‑center build‑outs, infrastructure upgrades, and operating system migrations.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools using Python, Shell, or similar technologies.
• Ensure reliability, availability, security, and performance of production infrastructure.
• Research emerging technologies and industry trends, providing recommendations for the technology roadmap.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve operational processes and infrastructure standards.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with Linux system administration, including RHEL and/or SLES.
• Strong understanding of OS performance tuning for low‑latency applications.
• Experience with virtualization and container technologies.
• Experience supporting server hardware, data‑center deployments, and OS migrations.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Shell or similar languages.
• Proven track record of supporting mission‑critical server infrastructure in production.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, highly available production environment.
