Infrastructure Engineer – Cloud Automation

About the role

Thought Machine is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our Lisbon Engineering Hub. You will help design, build, and maintain the automation tools and infrastructure that power our cloud‑native banking platform, ensuring reliability and scalability for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Support the engineering team in building reliable, scalable applications.
• Design and develop tools that make services highly available and automate deployment pipelines.
• Create observability and orchestration tooling for customers to monitor and manage deployments.
• Contribute to disaster‑recovery, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Improve code quality by building new tools and processes.

Required profile

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience building production‑ready infrastructure tooling.
• Experience with Python or Golang for automation.
• Familiarity with at least one of the following: observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana), databases (e.g., Postgres, DuckDB), event streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka), or container orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
