In-House Legal Counsel (Renewable Energy & Finance)

About the role

Greenvolt seeks an In-House Legal Counsel to support its renewable energy portfolio across Portugal and other jurisdictions. The role involves close interaction with regulatory bodies and internal teams to ensure legal compliance and smooth project execution.

Key responsibilities

• Support renewable energy projects (photovoltaic solar, wind, biomass, energy communities, ACC, ACI) in licensing and regulatory procedures.
• Interact with regulatory entities and manage licensing processes.
• Analyze, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts.
• Prepare legal opinions on commercial, corporate, civil, and energy law matters.
• Monitor judicial and administrative proceedings.
• Develop, review, and implement internal procedures and guidelines for compliance.
• Assist financing processes and guarantee matters, reviewing and negotiating documentation with financial institutions.

Required profile

• Law degree from a reputable university.
• Admission to the Portuguese Bar Association.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in corporate, energy, or finance law.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and planning abilities.
• Solid knowledge of commercial, corporate, civil, and energy law.
• Teamwork, resilience, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
