HSE & Maintenance Manager – Industrial Safety & Reliability

About the role

As the HSE & Maintenance Manager at Sidel’s Santa Maria da Feira site, you will be responsible for safeguarding the health, safety and environmental performance while ensuring the reliability of plant equipment and facilities. You will lead a multidisciplinary team in a fast‑moving industrial environment, driving continuous improvement and compliance with global standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy and manage the local HSE management system in line with Sidel standards, policies and Portuguese regulations.
• Lead HSE audits, risk assessments and incident investigations, and monitor corrective and preventive action plans.
• Plan and coordinate site safety training, fire drills, emergency preparedness and first‑aid programmes.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programmes to guarantee equipment reliability and operational continuity.
• Monitor site security, access control, fire‑protection systems and contractor activities.
• Drive continuous‑improvement projects focused on safety performance, service quality, operational efficiency and cost optimisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, HSE or a related technical field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in health, safety and environmental management within an industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of installation, commissioning and industrial maintenance processes.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
• Hands‑on leadership style with strong organisational abilities.
