Head of QA

About the role

Devoteam is looking for a senior professional to lead its Quality Assurance practice in Portugal. The Head of QA will be responsible for shaping the QA offering, ensuring high‑quality delivery for clients, and driving new business opportunities in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the QA service portfolio for the Portuguese market.
• Lead, mentor and grow a multidisciplinary QA team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Design and implement QA strategy, methodology, discipline and framework.
• Promote automation, agile testing and the use of appropriate testing tools and techniques.
• Oversee functional, performance and security testing activities.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and manage quality‑related risks.
• Collaborate with project managers, developers and other stakeholders to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities related to QA services, preparing presentations and proposals for potential clients.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Extensive experience in Quality Assurance, including leadership of QA teams.
• Proven track record of driving business development and sales in a QA context.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
