Head of Finance – PE-Backed Technology Business

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Finance to lead the finance function of a PE‑backed technology business operating in Portugal. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will oversee Group Finance, Accounting, Tax and Finance Operations across an international, multi‑entity organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Group Finance, Accounting, Tax and Finance Operations functions.
• Own month‑end close, group consolidation and financial reporting.
• Oversee statutory reporting, audit coordination and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial controls, governance and accounting policies.
• Manage the finance systems landscape and support finance transformation initiatives.
• Maintain relationships with external auditors, advisors and key finance stakeholders.
• Lead, coach and develop an international finance team.
• Support integration of future acquisitions into the finance function.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
• Strong experience leading finance in an international, multi‑entity environment.
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS, group consolidation and financial reporting.
• Broad exposure to accounting, tax, financial controls and finance operations.
• Experience owning finance systems, ERP environments and finance transformation projects.
• Previous experience in a PE‑backed and/or technology business is advantageous.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
