Head Chef – Luxury Resort

About the role

The Head Chef will lead all culinary operations at Costaterra Golf & Ocean Club, a private members‑only luxury community in Comporta, Portugal. Reporting to senior management, you will ensure the highest standards of food quality, creativity, and service for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all food preparation and kitchen activities.
• Create, update, and maintain diverse, high‑quality menus.
• Approve dishes before service and ensure consistent presentation.
• Manage purchasing, inventory, and ordering of ingredients and equipment.
• Oversee maintenance and repairs of kitchen equipment.
• Identify and resolve operational issues in the kitchen workflow.
• Recruit, train, and develop kitchen staff, assigning tasks and evaluating performance.
• Handle administrative records, including attendance, compensation, and payroll.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Promote a respectful, cooperative, and team‑oriented work environment.
