Hardware Test Engineer – Design, Testing & Validation

About the role

Join Bosch's Engineering team in Ovar to design and validate advanced hardware circuit architectures for consumer electronics, IoT devices and automotive ECUs. You will ensure feasibility, signal integrity and compliance with global EMC and safety standards while supporting production ramp‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop hardware circuit architectures, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Create and execute comprehensive testing and validation plans, analysing data for production readiness.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, component suppliers and manufacturing plants to optimise design for manufacturing and testing.
• Identify and resolve hardware bugs during prototyping and series production.
• Drive test‑automation initiatives and maintain test equipment to improve industrialisation processes.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in hardware design, schematic capture and PCB development, preferably in consumer electronics or IoT.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Analytical, detail‑oriented troubleshooting approach with strong problem‑solving mindset.
• Collaborative team player with excellent communication and intercultural competence.

Required skills

• Analog and digital circuit design.
• PCB layout and component selection.
• EMC compliance, shielding and filtering techniques.
• Manufacturing quality metrics (Yield, FPY, Cpk, GR&R).
• Programming in C/C++, Python, LabVIEW, TestStand or Visual Basic for test automation.
