Hardware & Software Test Engineer – Automotive Electronics

About the role

As a Hardware & Software Test Engineer in Automotive Electronics, you will design, develop and maintain test systems that validate Bosch’s car multimedia and sensor solutions. You will work at the Bosch Research & Development Center in Braga, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure robust, scalable testing for series production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain hardware and software test systems for automotive electronics.
• Analyze test data, create dashboards and KPIs using Power BI, Tableau or similar tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify, analyse and resolve test‑related issues.
• Support industrialisation, validation, commissioning and optimisation of new test systems.
• Set up and support production test systems locally and internationally.
• Monitor KPIs such as FPY, retest rate and test time to drive continuous improvement.
• Prepare technical documentation, support audits and contribute to DLR activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or a comparable field.
• Experience in test engineering, validation or debugging in an industrial environment.
• Experience with production test systems is an advantage.
• Familiarity with display or camera product testing/calibration is a plus.
• Knowledge of MES, OIS or database management is preferred.
