Generative AI Software Developer/Engineer (Hybrid – Aguadilla, PR)

About the role

The Generative AI Software Developer/Engineer will join RTX’s Collins Aerospace team in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Working in a hybrid model (three days onsite, two days remote), you will help accelerate AI‑driven capabilities for safety‑critical aerospace development.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments that leverage Generative AI to enhance business capabilities in safety‑critical projects.
• Identify, evaluate, and promote emerging AI technologies and assess their applicability across the organization.
• Define and implement process improvements that shorten product and solution delivery cycles.
• Develop strategies to reduce lifecycle costs through better engineering practices and streamlined workflows.
• Lead initiatives to minimise technical debt and improve long‑term maintainability of aerospace solutions.
• Establish reusable frameworks, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency and consistency across programs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to discover innovation opportunities and scale new capabilities.

Required profile

• STEM degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years experience.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory to access program information.
• Must be residing in Puerto Rico at the start of employment; relocation is not provided.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, across all organizational levels.
