Generative AI Engineer

About the role

A leading healthcare and pharmaceutical services organization is looking for an experienced AI Software Engineer Lead to design, build, and deploy production‑grade artificial intelligence solutions. The role focuses on applied AI engineering, integrating large language models and creating scalable AI inference services for data analytics and supply‑chain platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement production‑ready LLM‑powered capabilities such as natural‑language interfaces, intelligent summarization, anomaly explanations, and recommendation engines.
• Develop and optimise Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) and GraphRAG pipelines using structured, unstructured, vector, and knowledge‑graph data sources.
• Build scalable AI inference services and APIs with Python and FastAPI, and integrate them with Databricks, PostgreSQL, Neo4j, Azure AI Search, Azure Event Hubs, Kafka, and other enterprise platforms.
• Implement embedding pipelines, retrieval strategies, chunking, re‑ranking, structured output validation, hallucination controls, PII detection and responsible AI safeguards.
• Productionise models with containerised services (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm) and CI/CD pipelines, adding logging, tracing, monitoring, token‑usage tracking and cost controls.
• Maintain technical documentation, model cards, audit trails and collaborate with data scientists, engineers, architects, product managers, security and compliance teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• At least 8 years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years focused on AI software development.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, FastAPI, async/await patterns and Pydantic.
• Proven experience integrating LLMs into production using Azure OpenAI, OpenAI APIs or Hugging Face.
• Hands‑on experience with Databricks, PySpark, Delta Lake, Azure AI Search, pgvector, Neo4j and streaming technologies such as Kafka or Azure Event Hubs.
• Strong communication skills and full professional fluency in English.
