General Ledger Accountant – English Speaker

About the role

We’re looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join our Shared Service Center in Porto and play a key role in supporting our operations in an international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing activities, prepare and post journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments and provisions.
• Prepare and review balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and clear suspense and control accounts.
• Record and maintain fixed‑asset transactions, including acquisitions, transfers, disposals and depreciation, and perform related reconciliations.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports, conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for significant movements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, execute internal controls in the Record‑to‑Report process and support internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Management, Business Administration or equivalent.
• 3–4 years of experience in financial accounting or general ledger functions.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
• Fluency in English; additional languages, especially Dutch, are a plus.
• Strong communication skills, high accountability and ability to work in a multinational team.
