Fullstack Application Developer

About the role

As a Fullstack Application Developer within Knowledge Services, you will design, build and maintain Java‑based applications that automate workflows and support learning tools. The role offers end‑to‑end ownership of the software lifecycle, close collaboration with cross‑functional teams, and the chance to influence both technology and business processes.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and analyse business and technical requirements.
• Design, develop, test and maintain Java applications using Spring and Spring Boot.
• Build full‑stack solutions, including backend services and web‑based user interfaces.
• Develop UI components with JSP, Thymeleaf and/or React.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and system integrations.
• Work with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases to design schemas and optimise queries.
• Deploy and support applications in Linux environments.
• Manage development tasks, bugs and enhancements using Jira.
• Participate in code reviews, testing and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain high‑quality code using Git and established development standards.
