Full Stack Developer – Hybrid (Porto)

About the role

Emitu is looking for a proactive Full Stack Developer to join its fast‑moving IoT startup in Porto. You will work on both cloud‑based services and embedded systems, using a low‑code framework to create and customise IoT applications for a variety of industries.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core components of Emitu’s cloud platform.
• Build and extend embedded‑system features for IoT devices.
• Create and manage RESTful APIs that connect devices, data pipelines, and user interfaces.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver high‑quality, scalable solutions.
• Ensure code quality, performance, and security across the stack.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional experience in full‑stack development.
• Self‑motivated, autonomous, and comfortable working in a non‑hierarchical, collaborative environment.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude and willingness to learn new technologies quickly.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining best practices and mentoring teammates.

Required skills

• Java or Kotlin with the Spring framework.
• Node.js and TypeScript.
• Design and implementation of RESTful APIs.
• Relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of C/C++ and Python (optional but beneficial).
• Familiarity with Ansible and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
