Full Professor – Computer Science (2 positions)

About the role

The University of Minho is seeking two senior academics to join its Department of Computer Science as Full Professors. The positions are permanent and aim to strengthen the department’s leadership in research, teaching, and service.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science.
• Lead and coordinate research projects, securing external funding where possible.
• Supervise PhD, MSc and undergraduate students.
• Contribute to curriculum design and continuous improvement.
• Participate in departmental, faculty and university committees.
• Represent the department in national and international academic networks.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field.
• Internationally recognised research record with high‑impact publications.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level.
• Experience in obtaining research grants and managing research teams.
• Strong commitment to academic service and community engagement.
