Frontend Engineer – Global E‑commerce Platform

About the role

Farfetch is looking for a Frontend Engineer to join its global engineering team, based in Porto or Lisbon. You will move from building features to owning the full technical lifecycle of high‑scale web products that serve millions of luxury fashion customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Architect & Influence: develop global‑scale solutions for Farfetch.com and contribute to the core React‑based architecture.
• Ownership: deliver end‑to‑end personalized user experiences, from discovery with Product and Design to deployment.
• Collaborate: work within cross‑functional teams and share knowledge with the wider Front‑end community.
• Systems Thinking: evolve open‑source packages and the design system to ensure sustainability across products.
• Continuous Learning: master modern web performance optimisation, GraphQL integration, and advanced testing strategies.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional Front End development experience in collaborative, multi‑team environments.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and TypeScript.
• Deep understanding of JavaScript (ES6+, closures, async) and extensive experience building complex applications with React.
• Solid grasp of JavaScript design patterns, data structures, and web architecture.
• Commitment to clean, maintainable code supported by testing frameworks such as Jest and React Testing Library.
