Forward Deployed Data Scientist

About the role

We are seeking a Forward Deployed Data Scientist to work directly with clients, bridging the gap between advanced machine‑learning models and production environments. You will combine data‑science expertise with solid software‑engineering practices to deliver measurable value in real‑world settings.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to understand their data landscape, technical environment and business goals, and define deployment strategies.
• Deploy, configure and integrate JTA’s data‑science and ML solutions into client systems, ensuring reliable production performance.
• Adapt and extend existing models and data pipelines to meet client‑specific constraints, writing robust, maintainable code.
• Act as the technical liaison between clients and JTA’s internal data‑science and engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot data‑pipeline and model issues, monitor performance and provide hands‑on support.
• Work with business stakeholders and sales to translate outcomes into clear business value.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data science, machine‑learning deployment or a similar hands‑on technical role.
• Excellent communication skills and a client‑focused mindset.
• Ability to work independently in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments.
• Willingness to travel to client sites when required.

Required skills

• Python programming (pandas, scikit‑learn).
• PySpark for large‑scale data processing.
• Version control, testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• API development and integration.
• Cloud platforms and containerisation (Docker).
• Understanding of distributed systems and data‑intensive solutions at scale.
