Financial Controller

About the role

Superior Wellness is seeking a Financial Controller to join its European manufacturing operation in Portugal. The role will manage day‑to‑day financial activities of the facility and deliver accurate reporting for local management and the Group finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end month‑end process, including accruals, pre‑payments and control‑account reconciliations.
• Produce timely management accounts and reporting packs for local management and the Group.
• Provide insightful management information to support real‑time commercial decisions and improve profitability.
• Support and develop the Finance Administrator, ensuring coverage and consistency across the finance function.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying efficiency gains in finance processes and controls.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management for the facility.
• Collaborate with operations on product costing, stock and margin analysis.
• Ensure compliance with Portuguese statutory, tax and audit requirements.

Required profile

• Part or fully qualified ACCA, CIMA or Portuguese equivalent.
• Significant experience as a Financial Controller within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to deliver complete month‑end accounts, including accruals, pre‑payments and reconciliations.
• Track record of producing management information that supports commercial decision‑making.
• Experience improving finance processes and driving efficiency.
• Experience managing or supporting a small finance team.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English, both written and spoken.
