Financial Controller (E-commerce & Agency)

About the role

Digital Ride is seeking its first dedicated finance leader to shape the financial architecture of a fast‑growing digital marketing agency and its portfolio of direct‑to‑consumer brands. The Financial Controller will operate remotely, partnering with senior leadership to drive cash‑flow efficiency, inventory financing and cross‑border compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement segment accounting structures that clearly separate agency revenue, software costs and brand‑specific expenses.
• Build and maintain rolling cash‑flow and inventory forecasting models to anticipate funding needs months in advance.
• Standardize month‑end close processes, clean historical data and create an automated financial playbook.
• Oversee tax and compliance checkpoints for US economic nexus, New Zealand corporate tax and foreign income structures.
• Produce weekly financial dashboards for the leadership team to enable strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing finances for an agency, a DTC e‑commerce brand, or both.
• Strong understanding of COGS, ROAS, 3PL logistics, inventory turnover and retainer‑based billing.
• High‑growth mindset with ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, remote environment.
