Finance & Accounting Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Finance & Accounting Specialist to support our Portugal finance function within a multinational environment. Reporting to the local CFO, you will ensure accurate accounting, statutory compliance, and timely reporting to headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Record all accounting transactions in line with local GAAP and group policies.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual closings, financial statements and management reports.
• Perform account reconciliations, balance‑sheet reviews and variance analysis.
• Submit statutory tax declarations (VAT, CIT, withholding taxes) and liaise with tax advisors.
• Support treasury activities, accounts payable/receivable and audit documentation.
• Prepare reporting packages for HQ and ensure consistency with group reporting requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements, including SAP S/4HANA and other reporting tools.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a multinational setting.
• Strong knowledge of Portuguese accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.
• High accuracy, analytical mindset and ability to meet tight deadlines.
