Fiber Optic Technician – Substation & Power Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Muehlhan Wind Service is seeking experienced Fiber Optic Technicians to support substation and power infrastructure projects across Europe. The position is based in Germany and follows a rotational schedule (3 weeks on‑site, 2 weeks off in Portugal), offering long‑term stability and international exposure.

Key responsibilities

• Install, route, fusion splice, terminate and test fiber optic cables and related equipment according to project specifications.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and project documentation.
• Conduct fiber optic testing using OTDR and other equipment, record and report test results.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, quality standards and installation best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Fiber Optic Technician in telecommunications, energy, industrial or construction environments.
• Ability to work effectively in an international, multicultural team.
• Intermediate English proficiency (mandatory).
• Willingness to work on a 3‑weeks‑on / 2‑weeks‑off rotational basis between Germany and Portugal.
