Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer – Nuclear

About the role

This entry‑level position allows you to apply knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics and power‑plant engineering to real nuclear projects. You will prepare calculations, specifications and technical reports, and may travel to client, vendor and plant sites for design reviews and field verification. The role is hybrid, with three days on‑site and two days remote.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare calculations, specifications and technical reports to support client recommendations and reviews.
• Conduct equipment sizing, optimization evaluation and selection based on project needs.
• Participate in system engineering, including design, modification and analysis of power‑plant mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with senior mechanical engineers and support project teams.
• Travel to client, vendor and plant locations for design reviews and construction coordination.

Required profile

• BS or MS in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, General or Systems Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
• Strong academic background and interest in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, power engineering, turbomachinery, thermal systems and energy conversion.
• Knowledge of practical mechanical‑engineering applications and design techniques for technical plans and fabrication drawings.
• Strong interest in numerical computations and problem solving.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bilingual in Spanish and English.
