Engineer III – Cybersecurity R&D

About the role

This position joins the Junos Cybersecurity R&D team within HPE Networking, focusing on building and sustaining secure routers, switches, and firewalls. You will work on cutting‑edge security features, certifications, and AI‑enhanced vulnerability management.

Key responsibilities

• Support security certifications such as NIST FIPS 140, Common Criteria, and EU Cybersecurity Resilience Act.
• Develop product security capabilities including threat modelling, static and dynamic code analysis, penetration testing, hardware security assessments, and AI‑driven vulnerability management.
• Adopt new cybersecurity technologies, contribute to the security roadmap, and provide consulting to engineering managers and product teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 4‑6 years of relevant experience.
• Strong technical communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑evolving security environment.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of cybersecurity principles and networking security protocols (TLS, SSH, IPsec).
• Experience with cryptography as implemented in networking products.
• Proficiency in C (preferred) and Python; familiarity with Rust is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience driving product security certifications (FIPS 140, Common Criteria) and AI‑enhanced vulnerability discovery.
