About the role

EV Ambiente is seeking a full‑time Project and Process Design Engineer to join its on‑site team in Torres Vedras. You will be responsible for designing and developing process solutions for water and wastewater treatment plants, ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform process calculations and select appropriate equipment for treatment systems.
• Prepare technical specifications, engineering drawings and documentation using CAD tools.
• Support mechanical and electrical layout development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during project planning, coordination and execution.
• Provide technical assistance during installation, commissioning and optimisation of plants.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design methodologies and stay updated on best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil or related engineering.
• Strong foundation in design engineering for industrial or environmental systems.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes (academic or professional).
• Ability to interpret technical standards, regulations and specifications.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and organisational skills with attention to safety.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) tools.
• Process calculation expertise.
• Equipment selection for treatment plants.
• Understanding of mechanical engineering principles applied to plant layouts.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of electrical engineering concepts relevant to treatment plant design.
