Emergency Room Registered Nurse (12-month contract)

About the role

The Registered Nurse Specialty will provide direct patient care in an onsite emergency department setting in Aibonito, Puerto Rico. This 12‑month contract role involves delivering safe, timely, and effective care to adult and pediatric patients presenting with emergency conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform initial assessments, triage, and vital sign monitoring.
• Administer IV, intramuscular, oral, and other medications according to orders.
• Manage wounds, hemorrhages, fractures, burns, and assist with emergency procedures.
• Coordinate patient transfers and collaborate with specialist physicians.
• Complete admissions, focused physical assessments, and consult with NPs as needed.
• Document evaluations, interventions, patient responses, and critical events accurately.
• Maintain infection control, isolation protocols, and ensure emergency equipment readiness.
• Handle supply inventory and perform effective shift handoffs.

Required profile

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Puerto Rico (multi‑state licensure if applicable).
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience with required emergency room experience.
• Knowledge of INS standards and facility protocols for medication administration.
• Ability to work flexible 8‑ or 12‑hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
